EHORECON Professional Certificate Examination
The Ehorecon Professional Certification is obtained through annual examination set by the Council usually in November every year for each category of cadres (EHO, EHT, and EHA) seeking admission into professional practice.
Environmental Health Officers/Technologist EHO
Environmental Health Officers EHO receive five years professional training in an accredited college of health sciences and technology or a university where they obtain a Higher National Diploma or Degree and certified professionally by the Council.
EHO Professional Certificate Examination Past Question
Candidates are to seat for 5 papers viz: – 2 written theory papers, – Environmental Health Practice 1, Environmental Health Practice 11, Multi Choice Questions (MCQ) 50 questions, Practical (Alternative to Practical) and Oral Examination.
01. Environmental Health Practice I
Candidates will be examined in the following subject areas
a. Waste Management,
b. Building and Housing Sanitation,
c. Water Supply and Sanitation,
d. Food Hygiene,
e. Pest Management and Control,
g. Environmental Surveillance and Monitoring.
02. Environmental Health Practice II
Candidates will be examined in the following subject areas
i. Professional Ethics and Practice,
j. Environmental Health Laws,
k. Disease Control,
l. Port Health Services,
m. Occupational Health and Safety,
n. Disease Control and Bio Statistics,
o. Health Care Services,
p. Health Education and Promotion.
03. Multi Choice Questions
This will be made up of 50 questions for one hour.
The marking will entail negative marking.
04. Practical (Alternative to Practical)
Different pictures on any area of Environmental Health will be accompanied by 5 questions for the candidates.
05. Oral
This will cover any chosen area of Environmental Health
Scoring:
Theory I = 100%
Theory II = 100%
MCQ = 50%
VIVA = 50%
ORAL = 20%
This will then be compressed into a 100% to find the candidate’s score.
Pass Mark:
The pass mark for this examination is 50%, obtained in 100% score.
Failure in any of the components of this examination means total failure of the entire examination.
A candidate will be allowed to attempt this examination for three times only. After the third attempt, he is advised to be retrained.
Environmental Health Technicians EHT
Environmental Health Technicians EHT undergo three years professional training in accredited college of health sciences and technology where they obtain Environmental Health Technicians Diploma and certified professionally by the Council.
EHT Professional Certificate Examination Past Question
Candidates are to seat for 3 papers Viz – Oral Examination,

Environmental Health Assistants EHA undergo two years professional training in accredited college of health sciences and technology where they obtain Environmental Health Assistants Diploma and certified professionally by the Council.
EHA Professional Certificate Examination Past Question
