Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for admission into Part-Time Undergraduate Programmes for the 2016/2017 academic session.

Duration of Application: 

All applications (Undergraduates) should be done between 7.00am 28th June 2016 and 12.00 midnight 28th August 2016.


Cost:  

N11,050 Including bank charge


Entrance Examination: 

Admission into various programmes shall be through entrance examination to be conducted between Thursday, 1st and Saturday 3rd of September, 2016. The Screening test shall be computer-based.

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for admission into the following Undergraduate Degree Programmes of the University of Benin for the 2017/2018 Session. All the Programmes are on Part- Time basis.

Application website closes by 22nd September, 2017 (i.e. all applications must be concluded online not later than 22nd September,
2017).  Candidates who pay after the deadline will not sit for the examination.

Candidates should go back on-line on 26th September, 2017 to check for the Day, Venue and Time for their examination.

ENTRANCE EXAMINATIONS: Admission into various programmes shall be through entrance examination to be conducted between Thursday, 28th and Saturday 30th of September, 2017. The Screening test shall be computer-based.

However, there will be no Entrance Examinations for some programmes.
Admission into such programmes will be based on the general requirements approved by the Senate.
NOTE that GSM phones and calculators are NOT allowed.

OBJECTIVES

These  programmes  are 
aimed  at  providing avenues  for 
qualified  candidates  who 
cannot enroll  in  the 
Full-Time programmes  (through JAMB)
programmes for one reason or the other to upgrade  themselves 
and  acquire  Degree qualifications from the University of
Benin.
To  qualify  for 
the  examinations  into 
the  various part-time  degree 
programmes,  candidates  must satisfy 
the  following  general 
and  specific requirements for
admission.

GENERAL  UNIVERSITY 
OF  BENIN ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

The following 
General  Admission  Requirements apply uniformly across the
Faculties.
(a)  Candidates  for 
undergraduate programmes 
should  possess  the University matriculation requirement of  Five 
O’  level  credit 
passes  including English  Language 
at  not  more 
than two  sittings  in 
WASC,  WAEC SSCE/GCE,  NECO, 
SSCE  or  their recognized equivalents.
(b)  First  degree 
holders  seeking admission  into 
undergraduate programmes 
must  possess  a 
second class honours (lower division) and also satisfy  (a) 
above  for  the 
respective programmes.
(c)  University  of 
Benin  Diploma  holders seeking  admission 
into  Degree programmes  should 
have  at  least 
a Merit Level Pass.
(d)  Diploma  from 
other  recognized Universities  or 
OND  from  recognized Polytechnics/Colleges  of 
Technology should be at least at the Upper Credit Level Pass.
(e)  HND  from 
recognized  Polytechnics should be
at least at the Lower Credit Level Pass.
(f)  Waiver for mature
candidates seeking admission into Part-Time degree programmes may be considered
on the following conditions:

 (iv)  Not  more 
than  one  subject 
of the regular requirement for the desired  programme 
can  be
waived.   English  Language and 
core  courses  cannot 
be waived.
Note:  not  more 
than  5%  of 
the  total  number 
of candidates  admitted  for 
a  particular  programme
can be considered for waivers

Answer: part-time sandwich are programme run during the days of the week when the institution is on holiday especially long vacation, while part-time degree programme are run mainly from Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Similarity: both are not run during regular school days/hours.
