AAU Admission into Part-Time Undergraduate Degree Programme Form For 2011/2012

ADMISSION INTO THE 2011/2012 PART-TIME UNDERGRADUATE DEGREE
PROGRAMMES
Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for admission into the 2011/2012
Part-Time undergraduate degree programmes of the Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma as
follows:

(A) Faculty of Arts
a. B.A. English
Admission Requirements
Candidates seeking admission into the Department of English are expected to possess SSCE/NECO/GCE (O/L)/NABTEB at not more than two sittings with 5 credit passes in the following subjects: English Language, Literature in English and any other three Arts, or Social Sciences subjects.

(B) Faculty of Management Sciences
(a) B.Sc. Accounting
(b) B.Sc. Public Administration
(c) B.Sc. Business Administration
(d) B.Sc. Banking & Finance
Admission Requirements
(i) Candidates seeking admission into the Faculty of Management Sciences are required to posses SSCE/NECO/GCE (O/L)/NABTEB at not more than two sittings with 5 credit passes in the following subjects: Mathematics, English Language, Economics, and any other two Social Science subjects from Commerce, Geography, Accounting etc.
(ii) Candidates seeking admission into Public Administration in addition must have credit pass in Government.

(C) Faculty of Natural Sciences
(a) B.Sc. Computer Science
Admission requirements
Candidates seeking admission into the Faculty of Natural Sciences are required to possess SSCE/NECO/GCE O/L with 5 credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Physics and any other two from Chemistry, Biology, Geography, Economics.

(D) Faculty of Social Sciences
(a) B.Sc. Economics
(b) B.Sc. Geography and Regional Planning
(c) B.Sc. Political Science
(d) B.Sc. Criminology
Admission Requirements
(i) Candidates seeking admission into the Faculty of Social Sciences are expected to possess SSCE/NECO/GCE O/L in not more than two sittings with 5 credit passes in the following: English Language, Mathematics and any 3 other Social Science subjects.
(ii) Candidates seeking admission into B.Sc. Economics must have credit pass in Economics.
(iii) Candidates seeking admission into Political Science must have credit pass in Government.

(E) GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
(a) FIVE YEARS DEGREE PROGRAMMES
1. Candidates should possess SSCE/WASC/NECO/GCE, TCII etc with 5 credit passes at not more than two sittings, including English Language and other Departmental and Faculty requirements.
2. Candidates are expected to write an entrance examination before they can be considered for admission.

(b) DIRECT ENTRY: FOUR YEARS DEGREE PROGRAMMES
For Direct Entry admission, candidates are expected to possess at least two (2) A/Level papers, NCE, or equivalent (at acceptable level) Diploma Certificate (at not less than Merit grade) in related areas plus SSCE/NECO/GCE (O/L), etc at
not more than two sittings with 5 credit passes including English Language,Mathematics and other Departmental requirements.

(c) DURATION
(i) FIVE YEARS
Candidates with SSCE/NECO/GCE (O/L) seeking admission into any programmes will spend five years.
(ii) DIRECT ENTRY CANDIDATES
Admitted Direct Entry Candidates will spend four years.

(d) GENERAL INFORMATION
(a) Please note that all candidates with O/L results preceding 2007 must present the originals of their certificates and not statement of result slips.
(b) All completed application forms should be accompanied with the following:
(a) Passport size photograph.
(b) Photocopies of credentials
(c) Photocopy of receipt of purchase of application form.
NOTE: No case of awaiting results shall be entertained.

DURATION OF APPLICATION
All requests for application forms should be made in person. Completed application forms with all necessary documents including Certificates of State and Local Government of origin must be returned to the Secretary, Directorate of Part-time Degree and Diploma Programmes, Emaudo Annex not later than 31st January, 2012.
